About Us
Fordelhill, on the outskirts of St Andrews, has for centuries been associated with
farming. "Fordel" means 'grain store' or 'granary' and records show that there has
been a farm here for nearly Eight Hundred years. Within the boundary of the farm
is situated Aldams Well which was mentioned in the Land Charter by Roger De Quency
circa 1230. This Well was an important water source then and was fed from the
underground spring which still irrigates the farm today.
We are committed to producing excellent quality meats, delivering finest quality
produce and affordable value. Our goal is to provide the best of Scottish produce
very accessible to local customers, so that they can make a choice - buy mainstay
and staple foods locally or from more uncertain global sources. There is a growing
call for food again to be produced locally, for local consumption. We at
Fordelhill Farm are proud to be able to make our contribution to this trend.
